Older couple, newer technology We have had a Canon Sureshot ZOOM-S film camera for years and were delighted in it's ease of use and outstanding results. Needing to go to the digital format, we selected another brand and were disappointed in the camera. Selecting this Canon put us back in the extremely satisfied category!
Great small camera Overall quality of this camera is really good. But I do not really like the colors of the pictures when it uses the flash. I previously owned an IXUS 750, and it was much better with the flash. Maybe there is something I can do with the white balance, but default settings are not perfect.
Nice Camera I am a novice photographer. So far this camera is great. Nice weight. Clear pictures. Tons of features for a point and shoot. Good quality pictures.

Great photos This little camera does a great job taking photos- even with existing light. Its relatively light weight and small, at least compared to my previous Canon and the large screen means I can take photos without finding my glasses! I'm not very technical so this is an easy to use and rewarding camera- the photos are great! Battery life a little short, but that's so far a small drawback for the results I'm getting in great photos.

I love this little camera It was time to buy a new digital camera. After reading many reviews I settled on this one and I am very happy with it. It was a bit smaller than I had anticipated (my fault for not reading about the size more carefully). I now like the way I can just store it in my pocket, purse or bag and I find that I am taking it more places because of its size and convenience. It is easy to use and takes great pics of pets, landscapes and people. The viewing window is very tiny so I find I take most of my pics by using the back display. It is a big and bright display so it is now my preference (although I thought for sure I would prefer the window when I first decided to buy it). Battery life seems good so far. I am happy with my purchase.
Great Camera for Amateurs, Too As first-time parents, my husband and I have been taking photos pretty much nonstop for the last fifteen months. Our old camera was great at first but quickly became only adequate when our baby became a toddler. The Canon PowerShot really does track movement and capture great photos, especially for those of us amateur photographers trying to capture running toddler photos. The screen on the back is nicely sized, and the menus and controls are extremely intuitive. I was able to use the camera several times before picking up the super-thick manual to learn about other great features I wasn't using. The only caveat is that the charger is the kind that sticks directly to the outlet instead of having a cord, so it takes up wall space instead of fitting in my charging station. All in all, a fantastic buy. Definitely recommended for other on-the-go types who want the camera to worry about making every picture beautiful for them.
Perfect Point and Shoot I bought this camera for my wife for Christmas. I did a fair amount of research on-line and based upon the many stellar reviews I found for this camera and the great price point, I made the purchase. My wife loves this camera. It is the perfect point and shoot style. The small size and weight make it incredibly portable and the 10MP resolution gives us great pics. A lot of nice features for the money. I love having the viewfinder for outdoor use during the day in a snowy climate as all screens get washed out in the glare. In normal conditions the screen provides great resolution and feedback. Image stabilizer has been great. I'm really happy with the camera for the price! My only complaint about the buying process has nothing to do with the camera. I wanted to buy the suggested memory card with the camera during the same transaction. however since the memory card came from a different supplier than the camera, Amazon was going to charge me $11 to ship a $10 item. So then I had to go buy a card from the store locally. I would have liked to take care of both at the same time, but couldn't justify the shipping....

Updated! (Original comment) I ordered two of these Lenmar batteries from "Thebatterycenter". What showed up were NOT "Lenmar" brand. The company sent some no-name brand instead, which had no actual brand name printed on the battery. Lenmar prints their name on the battery. These no-name batteries will not recharge after only a couple uses. If I had actually received "Lenmar" batteries that I ordered then I would not have wasted the time or the money on this junk. I already have two actual "Lenmar" batteries from a different Amazon order, they lasted over two years and used in my Canon camera for over 5,000+ photos. The no-name brand from Thebattercenter was a total rip off, and a misrepresentation of the product I expected to receive, even if they were priced at only a few bucks each. Don't order from this company if you want the REAL Lenmar. (FOLLOW UP 01/04/08): I contacted thebatterycenter through Amazon, received response back very quickly. Thebattercenter said it was a packing error on their end for sending me the wrong batteries and stated they'll send me the Lenmars right away. Impressed with company's speedy communication. Hopefully I'll receive the Lenmars soon.
Can't believe the price I bought this along with a digital camera for my wife. I couldn't believe the price. When it cme in, I charged it up and it works great. I would definitely recommend this to anyone ating a spare battery for their digital camera.

Great Out of The Box! I just bought this camera today, right out of the box I was able to take great photo's. Thankfully, I had a 2gig card from my older camera, so I did not have to buy a new one as the one they give you holds next to nothing in photo's. Still great to have a card though so not picking on it. I have been wanting a small compact camera that takes great photo's. I think I found exactly like I wanted. I got mine at Target for 30 dollars more then what Amazon sells for. Still, not a bad deal. I paid less then my first camera, and still paid less then my last fugi camera that died in the first year.
cannon great camera, good price. Two of the sites were con artists , offered low prices, if you ordered attachments. no deal otherwise. Also said camera was a grey market camera and had to be sent back to Japan for any warranty work.
