Great P&S Camera I am a photo enthusiast, and primarily use a 40D. I love the camera, but it is not always practical to carry around. I also have used several compact cameras that are very easy to carry around, but aren't good for much more than a snapshot. I wanted something that was portable enough to take to things like the state fair or a party at a friends, while also providing great pictures. This camera is perfect for that. I've had the camera about a week and shot 250 photos or so, mainly test shots to see how the camera performs in various scenarios, as well as to just learn my way around the camera. The photo quality is very good. Not DSLR good, but that is to be expected. I feel that the camera takes pretty usable pictures up to ISO 400, but if you plan on making very large prints (above an 8X10) it may be better to stay below ISO 200. I wish the camera had fewer megapixels and better ISO performance, but no camera is perfect. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a portable high quality Point & Shoot camera.

Amazing for me this camera is the ultimate image-making device in that it is small enough to almost always have with me, takes beautiful stills up to ISO 200, and stunning video. its fast to operate, has very solid build quality, and with image stabilization i can shoot at 15/100 handheld no problem. it is a truly serious product and can take truly serious photo's. also, for me the price is so low that I can upgrade when a new model comes out and not feel guilty at all. $500 for RAW AND VIDEO?!?!?! could have said the same thing about the G9, but this is truly a major improvement over the previous model. personally i think the biggest improvement is the body design. functions are more streamlined, and it feels better/more solid. i highly recommend it. you won't be disappointed.
Over-priced noise machine I had high hopes that the G10 would be vastly improved over the 1 year old G9. The wider lens and improved monitor are big pluses but cramping yet more pixels into that tiny chip didn't help matters at all in the image quality department. Besides the high noise levels above 200 ISO the lens doesn't stops down further than f8. Mine got returned. At this price point I think many would-be G10 buyers may be better off considering a Nikon d40, or similar small Canon. Yes these are larger cameras, but only slightly, and the gain in image quality is far superior.

Great buy I bought this camera to replace my sisters old one which was the older model and she loved it. It has so many features and it takes great pictures. It has a big lcd screen which was one of it's selling points for her. Canon makes great camera's and we definitely don't regret buying this one.
LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!! This camera rocks! I had purched a Kodak before this one and was extremely disappointed in the picture quality and ended up returning it. So, before I bought this camera I really did my homework and made sure that it had all the features I wanted. It has all of that and more! It takes fantatic picutes, its easy to use and the perfect size to ride around in my purse so that its there when I need it! It does not have an optical view finder wich does not bother me because the screen is huge, very clear, and easy to see even in sunlight.

Pencil-box ugly For this price, I was expecting something similar to the nice, form-fitting leather cases I have for my ipods. If you thought this too, you would be wrong! The case is nearly twice as thick as the SD1100IS which Amazon suggested that I purchase together. Forget about putting this case in your pants pockets. Don't know how much "leather" is actually present - I think it's embossed vinyl. This one is going back to Amazon!
the WRONG case this is the wrong case for the canon sd 1100. it is way too big. i had to return it. dont know how amazon dropped the ball on this.
Perfect fit for SD1100IS I wanted something that wouldn't add too much bulk to a tiny camera so I figured I need to go with Canon's case. The camera slips right in and stays secure and you can feed the wrist strap through the hole on the top. I then can just slip the camera in the front pocket of my jeans. It is unfortunate there is no place to put any extra memory cards or batteries, but that is not the point of this case. It would require extra bulk and negate a compact case. I would have preferred something more like neoprene as the material, but I took what I could get.

iSAPS Technology is an entirely original scene-recognition technology developed for digital cameras by Canon. Using an internal database of thousands of different photos, iSAPS works with the advanced DIGIC 4 Image Processor to improve focus speed and accuracy, as well as exposure and white balance.

A new Face Self-Timer automatically detects an increase in the number of faces and makes the appropriate adjustments. For instance, to include photographer’s face in a group shot, there’s no need to rush in. Just put the camera on a stand or tripod, and specify Face Self-Timer, and the camera will wait for the photographer’s face to get on-camera before it takes the shot. Motion Detection now tracks moving subjects in a much larger range, and the new Servo AF retains focus on a moving subject after the shutter button is pressed halfway -- allowing you to wait for the perfect shot without refocusing. 5th Canon camera I bought this camera for my son who just graduated college. I have the SD550 and have taken it all over the world.. this one will do the same for him. I read somewhere that you could not zoom while shooting a video, not true, it zooms fine. The Canon quality seems to be good. For the size and convenience, these camera's are well worth the money. Having a camera with you, that is not bulky, is a great asset. This applies to any small camera of course. The software is good. The image quality is better than my 550, so I think it's a winner.
Excellent Camera This is the second Canon SD850 IS I've purchased since early this year. Originally I bought one for my wife due to it's power and small size. It's turned out to be a great camera and takes excellent pictures. So after having used one for 6 months I bought another for my daughter.
