Movie Feature Bought this camera mainly cause I thought with its OIS it would be more stable than my Vado hand-held. Turns out the Canon video shows plenty of noise, which makes me want to put it aside. Worse, for a PC Windows user, I have yet find a satisfactory way to edit this Quicktime movie format. Even bought Apple's Quicktime Pro, but this software is a bear of an application when it comes to make a movie out of several clips. Any ideas are welcome. Update: Used the ZoomBrowser software Canon provides with this camera to stich several video clips together into a large movie. Was astonished to realize the software transformed the Quicktime mov file into an "avi" file, one that can now be played with the Windows Media Player-very good video results too, a big surprise. Amazing Grace, Canon why are you not recording the videos in the "avi" format in the first place. Perhaps this newly converted file can now be edited with an ordinary Windows based editing software?
Awesome Awesome camera!! I am one impatient person. No problem with this camera. Turn this camera on and you are ready to snap pics in seconds. Second shot? No problem with lag time. It has and does everything I need. Plus, my favorite color is red. Easy to carry. Battery charges in less than 2 hrs. Software for the computer isn't the greatest but it does the job. Battery life is great. No regrets with this camera. Haven't even tried the HD video yet. I'm sold even if it didn't have that feature. That's how good it is.
No sound recorder! The camera is designed very well. It feels very durable, and is small, with a quick start up speed. The photos and HD video look great so far. Here's my only problem. Canon has removed one of the nicest features of its previous SD cameras: the sound recorder. With the lens retracted, you used to be able to record up to an hour of high quality audio. I'm very disappointed that they've removed this feature! Canon has also removed the fun "stop action video mode". Perhaps they thought they were removing clutter from the menus, but they also removed some great features!

Getting to Know Canon Powershot S10 IS is a high end digital camera with powerful zoom lens and a retro design. It is the successor to the popular Powershot S5 IS but has integrated a number of new features other than keeping its predecessor's outer design.
Design and Looks The Powershot S10 IS looks like one of those cameras your father owned in his youth and has a nice old world charm to it. The large zoom lenses on the front and an elegant black body have a distinct appeal. However, it may not be a very convenient camera to carry around and for people used to the more swanky, slim cameras of today, it may not appeal too much.
Key Features A whopping 20x optical zoom with a wider angle is the first thing you will notice about the camera. It gives you a fine resolution and a large, flip out screen too. A number of multifarious shooting modes, metering and a macro mode for people with an eye for detail give you great tools to explore your creativity.
Other Features Other than these cool off beat features, the camera also offers a range of regular features expected from a camera of its caliber like Red Eye reduction, timer, flash, PictBridge, Direct Print facility, and connectivity through a USB cable. The camera has a decent built in memory and for surplus storage it uses an SD card.
Verdict It is an awesome looking, awesome functioning canon no doubt, but it also comes for a matching price. Though it does use some path breaking technology and gives outstanding results, it is a heavy camera to move around with.

Not worth the wait Had to return this camera after waiting over a month. After owning several Canon p/s that I was very pleased with and still own two, the sx200 is not at all what I expected. I have just returned it. The pop-up flash is just a really bad design for several reasons. The camera body has a very slippery feeling, and nothing really to anchor it in your hand with any feeling of safety from dropping. I fear it will be a real energy eater recharging batteries and replacing much to often. Bottom line, Canon has made a mistake with this camera. Guess I'll look at the Olympus 9000, or wait for the Panasonic tz7
Canon SX200 is Like most reviewers I researched this camera for weeks before I took the plunge. Most of the reviews were from Europe as they were not available in this country and are just becoming available now. I am the owner of several Canon cameras and they have all given me excellent service. Right now I own the S5 and the SD800 which I think are two of the best P&S cameras on the market. The SX200 is no less a great camera. Pictures are as bright and sharp as the S5 and the 12X zoom is nearly as good. Manual controls is the frosting on the cake. The learning curve between the two cameras is not to bad, but you must read the manual to get the most out of it as you should with any camera. The one con I have is no view finder. Although the LCD is bright and I can see most of the picture I lose some of the detail in bright light. I tried to take a picture of our first robin last week and had a hard time picking it up in the LCD. The 3" LCD is great, but it could be brighter and I expect next year we will see a much brighter LCD in this camera. Other than that it is a great camera. I like the heft of it, the classy look of it and the sharp detailed pictures. Low light, bright light and everything in between. Manual controls makes all this possible but the Auto controls will do most everything I want. I was surprised at the detail of a picture I took in an almost dark room using manual controls. If you buy this camera, read the manual and you will not be disappointed. You can buy generic batteries for less than $10 each. I bought two for less than $19. As many reviewers pointed out the SX200 does go thru batteries quickly especially if you are on an all day trip taking movies as well as stills. I too prefer AA batteries, which my S5 takes, but it is not a problem for me with two extras in my pocket. Fortunately my SD800 takes the same battery as the SX200 so now I have plenty to go around. Some reviewers complained about the pop up flash. It has not been a problem for me and most of the time I am not aware of it. We will always have those few who get a defective camera. All manufacturers have defective cameras from time to time and Canon is no exception, but if you buy your camera from Amazon you will have no problem getting a replacement.
good but could be better just got this after reading some of the reviews. here's what i think. picture quality it good, even at iso400 like all the other reviewers said but it is still a point and shoot, so don't expect slr type of lens speed. pros: -great zoom 12x -great video quality (no optical zoom but it has digital) -manual control, for a compact which is great! cons: -flash pops up (this doesn't bother me as much but it is annoying) -compact size but longer...from the picture it looks to be a good size but it is a bit longer (width) and thicker than i would like. all in all, a good compact (not sub-compact) with manual controls and good picture quality. i've had nikon cameras all my life and this is my first canon (i know, i know), the only reason i didn't get a nikon is because they don't have a decent super-zoom compact, there's the p6000 but...lots of issues with that. anyways, nice camera!

Canon Powershot A2000IS review.. It's very easy to understand, takes amazing photos, there's never any blurry pictures, and it's a good price. I'm not easily satisfied, but I looooove this camera.
you get what you pay for This camera has some nice features and does a pretty good job at what it attempts. Those that seems to have large adversity to this camera (and those that seem to love every aspect of it) should remember that it's not a $600 camera. In low light without flash the pictures are likely to be blurry because it takes longer to process the low amount of light in the area. I can also see some of the pixles when I take videos. Maybe this is a problem with my specific camera? At any rate, I think the camera is decent and does a good enough job for what I need. If you're looking for a camera that takes really good pictures all the time, then this is not the camera for you. Be prepared to work a little harder to capture the shots more with your own skills and less with the technology of the camera.
Great Camera - Amazing Resolution If you told me 2 years I would be able to take pictures like this with a digital camera I would have told you that you were crazy. The quality of the pictures I am taking with this little point and shoot camera is amazing. The auto settings are great. It's almost not worth tweaking the settings unless you are going for a specific effect.

Excellent camera for the price I love this camera. It takes very sharp pictures and it is easy to use. It is compact enough to take with me wherever I go. It takes excellent pictures in poor lighting conditions. I also like the convenience of using AA batteries as long as I use the rechargeble long-lasting kind then I don't have to worry about short battery-life issues and having to carry bulky/heavy nickel cadmium type batterris that require a special charger. When I travel abroad I rather just carry a couple of extra AA batteries in my pocket or in my backpack instead of bulkier batteries with a corresponding charger. If I lose my batteries they're easier and cheaper to replace than the other kinds. I do recommend a simple carrying case to keep it protected because it does look a little bit fragile. Better to be safe and invest in a carrying case.
A Good Point N' Shoot Camera This is a very good camera with many features found on only more expensive cameras. I like haveing AA batteries BUT I am going thru them at a very rapid rate. The camera is only 3 months old and we have not taken 100 pictures yet and I am on my 3rd set of batteries. As soon as I know just how many shots I am getting on aset of batteries, I will be contacting Amazon and/or Canon to try to find out what the problem is. John Goodwin

Amazing Camera with some small slipups I got this camera as a replacement to the Sony W150. I was not impressed with the blurry pics I was getting with the Sony. So i returned that item and got the Canon SX 110 IS. I did a lot of reading before getting this. I must say I got really good pictures with this camera. I took almost 600-700 pictures with this camera in different conditions. I took pictures on 2 completely different occasions, one was on a day on which we had a snow storm. So there was no sun and only snow, the other day being beautifully sunny. I got exceptional quality pics on both these occasions. I am still trying to explore the various options this camera provides especially the manual mode etc. My list of good and bad is as follows: G00D ====== 1. Great Picture quality in most conditions. 2. Very good in handling difficult light conditions. 3. Exceptional 10X Optical zoom. I could get really close to distant objects. 4. Beautiful black body. Very comfortable in your hand. 5. Terrific maintenance of colors. Got exceptional color quality in bright sunlight. 6. Great manual features. Helps photography enthusiasts like me to learn new ways of photography and techniques. Also has the auto modes for people who like to keep it simple. 7. I like the SD card format for its simplicity. I ordered an additional 4GB transcend class 6 card which is amazingly fast. 8. It runs on 2 NIMH rechargeable batteries. I got the Sony cycle energy 2000Mah to go with these and they also provide me exceptional long lasting power. 9. The SD card also performs very good. very fast to copy and delete, reformat etc. NOT SO GOOD =========== 1. The Flash recharge time is very slow. This is one thing which I am not liking in this camera. It takes atleast 5-6 seconds to recharge the flash and during this time, you cannot take another shot. So you might miss out in catching a good shot on time. 2. The AA cells this cam uses makes a bit heavy to hold. I am ok with it but others might want a lighter camera. 3. Sometimes it looks like the camera takes some time and is a second late to take the picture after pressing the shutter button. So instead of capturing the intended action of the subject, it captures the next action which defeats the purpose of the shot. 4. In low light conditions and photos taken inside the house, it shows some kind of white patches in the picture. I took a picture of my wall and it is showing some kind of white patches on the wall which is not seen normally. I dont know what extra the camera is able to see or should I be changing the settings. Yet to explore on that. 5. It doesnt come with a neck strap. I would have liked if it came with a neck strap. 6. The supplied image gateway software has been useless to me. It is of huge size and is a drap on my laptop. I didnt find any real useful or addtional features in this than what is there on other image editing software. All in all , I think this is a great camera for the $200 you spend. You will get beautiful snaps with this camera. At the same time, I think you should take this camera if you have real interst in learning photography and do a lot of reading becos thats how you can appreciate the lot of manual features this camera offers. I would definitely recommend this.
Awesome After reading the many customer reviews here, and Consumer Reports' "Best Buy" rating, convinced me to try the Canon Powershot SX110IS. Simply put, I could not be more pleased with the purchase. Everything about the camera is impressive - from the feature set, ease of use, price and especially the quality of the photos. Highly recommended!
great bargaom I found this camera much cheaper that any stores in my area. Geat product delivered to my door and no fighting crowds in stores. Best way to go.
