New DIGIC 4 Image Processor improves Face Detection, adds Servo AF, Face Detection Self-Timer and Intelligent Contrast Correction DIGIC 4 Image ProcessorCanon’s proprietary DIGIC Image Processors have long set its cameras apart from the competition, and the new DIGIC 4 sets the bar even higher. Faster, more accurate noise reduction delivers better image quality, even at high ISO speeds. iSAPS Technology is an entirely original scene-recognition technology developed for digital cameras by Canon. Using an internal database of thousands of different photos, iSAPS works with the advanced DIGIC 4 Image Processor to improve focus speed and accuracy, as well as exposure and white balance. A new Face Self-Timer automatically detects an increase in the number of faces and makes the appropriate adjustments. By far the best Point-and-Shoot I've found I have an undergraduate and graduate degree in photography - but I don't do a lot with it. In fact, I've pretty much taken a hiatus for about 12 years from shooting photography as an art form - except for one series of projects about two years ago that I did using my camera phone. One reason I've held off for the past few years is that I've been waiting for a camera with the characteristics of the SD990IS. I wanted a point and shoot camera that would fit in a pocket, that was >14MP (with fantastic image quality) and that would have long battery life. And that's what this camera is - it has met and exceeded every expectation. While the lense is a bit limited - and not what you'd want in an SLR - that's not what I wanted. I've been taking photographs in the mountains while skiing, assembling them into massive panoramas and having them printed in very large format. And the quality of these images is stunning. I bought this camera in early December. I've charged the battery twice, despite frequent usage. I bought a 16 GB SD card, and it's been nice not to have to worry about running out of storage. I highly recommend this camera!
Canon Poweshot SD900IS A superb product with great results. My daughter loves it as she needed a compcat camera with good results and a good zoom.
Canon Powershot 14.7mp is Mini but Mighty The Canon Powershot 14.7mp is the best. It goes any and everywhere. Its features are unlimited. The price $299.00 is great, unbeatable. Pictures and videos are remarkable. I have a Canon Powershot 5.0mp, it still works great. I paid $500.00 for it when it first came out years ago. I am totally 100% happy with my Canon Powershot 14.7 mp. I would recommend it, it is great.
